Tallette

What it does

Tallette is an adding machine with a paper tape. Type amounts down the tape, give each line a comment, and change any line at any time: every total below it follows. On your Mac, iPhone and iPad, where one purchase covers all three, and on Android phones and tablets from Google Play.

• Type as you would say it. 12.50+ adds, −7.20 lunch subtracts with a comment, 3×4= multiplies, +19% tax adds tax, 15% takes a percentage.
• Subtotals, totals and grand totals like an adding machine's, and new sections for each part of a job.
• Exact. Decimal arithmetic, never binary floating point: 0.10 + 0.20 is exactly 0.30. 34 significant digits, rounding half up; dividing by zero shows an error line.
• Tax, percent and currency. Add or remove VAT or GST, markups and discounts; show a currency beside the totals (display only, never converted).
• Tags. A #food in a comment totals the lines by category.
• Export and print. Aligned text, CSV for spreadsheets, PDF, and printing on the Mac; import a Tallette CSV or paste a column of numbers.

Requires macOS 14 Sonoma or later; on iPhone and iPad, iOS and iPadOS 17 or later; on Android, Android 8.0 or later.

Privacy in one paragraph

Tallette never connects to the internet. Your tapes stay on your device, in the files you save. There is no account, no tracking and no analytics, and no data is collected. The full privacy policy says the same at more length.
