Usagette
Privacy policy
Last updated 2 October 2026.
The short version
Usagette collects no data, sends nothing and has no network access. There is no account, no analytics and no tracking.
What Usagette reads and writes
Usagette works with a folder you choose: the .claude folder of Claude Code in your home folder. macOS asks you to pick it once, in an ordinary Open panel, and Usagette remembers that choice.
- It reads one file it created itself,
.claude/usagette/status.json, which holds the usage numbers and reset times that Claude Code reports to its status line. It does not read your conversations, projects or anything else in the folder. - It writes only its own hook files in
.claude/usagette, and thestatusLineentry in.claude/settings.json, to connect the status-line script. Your previous status line is kept and run as before, and a backup of the settings file is saved before the first change.
What is stored, and where
Inside the app's own storage on your Mac: your settings, the last numbers it saw, and your choice of folder. Deleting the app removes them. The status-line files stay in your .claude folder until you press Remove in Settings; they hold only the usage numbers.
Where it goes
Nowhere. Usagette has no network access. It has no network entitlement, so macOS itself will not let it open a connection. There is no server, and nothing leaves your Mac.
Independence
Usagette is made independently and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Anthropic. Claude and Claude Code are trademarks of Anthropic.
