Poisette
Privacy policy
Last updated 1 October 2026.
The short version
Poisette collects nothing, sends nothing and has no network access.
What Poisette reads
The tilt of your head, from headphones with head tracking, through Core Motion. Your Mac, iPhone or iPad asks for Motion & Fitness access the first time you press Start or Calibrate. Each reading is used as it arrives to tell upright from slouched, and then discarded.
Whether a microphone is in use by any app, on the Mac, so it can stay quiet during calls. It reads a single on or off flag from macOS. This needs no microphone permission and hears nothing. On iPhone and iPad it reads no such flag: the system tells Poisette when a call or another app interrupts its sound.
Whether an app is full screen, on the Mac, from the size of the front window. Window contents and titles are never read.
What is stored, and where
Inside the app's own container on your Mac, iPhone or iPad: your calibration, your settings, and a history of minutes (how long you sat upright and slouched, and how many nudges, hour by hour, for 400 days). Today's score and your week are shared with Poisette's own widgets; on iPhone and iPad they pass through a keychain item that only Poisette and its widgets can read. Deleting the app removes all of it, though iOS may keep that small keychain item. Settings ▸ History on the Mac, or Reset history in Settings on iPhone and iPad, clears the history any time.
Where it goes
Nowhere. Poisette has no network entitlement on the Mac, which means macOS itself will not let it open a network connection. On iPhone and iPad it contains no networking code. Its focus sounds are made on the device, and its notifications come from the device itself. There is no server, no analytics and no account. A CSV export goes only where you save it.
