Common questions

Will the people on my call see the prompter?

No. The strip is marked as private to your screen, so screen sharing and screen recording leave it out. If you share with an app that behaves differently, please tell me.

Follow mode says my language is not available.

Follow mode only uses speech recognition that runs on your Mac, and not every language has it. Pick another language in Settings ▸ Voice, or use voice-paced mode, which works in any language.

How do I connect a phone or tablet as a remote?

Turn on the iPhone remote in Settings ▸ Shortcuts on the Mac; it works with iPad and Android too. Open Prompette on the phone or tablet on the same Wi-Fi, choose your Mac and type the four-digit code the Mac shows. An iPhone or iPad asks once for local network access.

What are cues?

Anything in square brackets, such as [PAUSE], [BREATHE] or [SLIDE 3]. They appear as coloured markers and are never counted as words; a pause also gives you a moment in the timing.
