Getting started
On the Mac, Pinette lives in the menu bar: click the pin, then New. On iPhone and iPad, open the app and type: the first line of a note is its title. Pin a note to keep it first in the list and in the widgets, and on the Mac to float it above your windows.
Questions
How do I copy a code from a note?
On the Mac, click the line in the floating note. On iPhone and iPad, open the note large (Show Large in its menu) and tap the line.
A floating note is in the way.
Drag it elsewhere or drop it near a corner. Turn on Click Through in its menu so clicks pass to the window behind, or press ⌃⌥⌘J to hide every note for a moment.
How do I put a note on the Lock Screen?
Add a Pinette widget to the Lock Screen or to StandBy.
Are secret notes really hidden?
Secret notes are never shown in widgets or on the Lock Screen, locked or not: tap one to open it in Pinette, and turn on Require Face ID or passcode in Settings if you like. On the Mac, secret notes are blurred until you point at them and are left out of screenshots and screen sharing. Exported files and QR codes contain the text itself: share them only with your own devices.
How do notes get to my other devices?
With Sync with iCloud on (the default), through your own private iCloud on every Mac, iPhone and iPad signed in to it. Without iCloud, or to an Android phone, show a note's QR code or share notes as a .pinette file.
Sync says I am not signed in.
Sign in to iCloud in System Settings or Settings and make sure iCloud Drive is on. Pinette keeps working on the device in the meantime and syncs when iCloud is back.
