Pinette

Privacy policy

Last updated 1 October 2026.

The short version

Pinette collects no data. The developer has no servers, no account system, no analytics and no tracking, and cannot see your notes.

Where your notes are kept

Your notes are kept on your device, in Pinette's own storage, which its widgets and share extension read too. On Mac, iPhone and iPad, Sync with iCloud is on unless you switch it off: your notes, secret ones included, are then also kept in your own private iCloud database, under your Apple Account, so your devices show the same notes. They are stored and transferred by Apple's iCloud, under Apple's privacy policy; they are not visible to the developer or to anyone else. Switching sync off keeps the notes on the device and stops syncing.

Pinette for Android does not use iCloud and has no network permission.

What leaves your device

Nothing else. Pinette uses no network of its own: no ads, no crash reporting, no usage statistics. A QR code or an exported .pinette file contains the note's text, including a secret note's; they go only where you show or send them.

Permissions

The camera is used only while you scan a QR code on iPhone or iPad, after you tap Scan with the Camera, and nothing is recorded. Pinette never asks for notifications: iCloud's silent change notices need no permission and show nothing.
