Common questions

Why does my calendar differ by a day from another one?

The Chinese calendar is reckoned at Beijing's meridian, the Vietnamese at Hanoi's, and the Korean and Japanese at 135° east. When a new moon falls close to midnight, the month begins on different days. Choose your tradition in Lunarette's Settings (on a Mac, Settings ▸ Calendar).

How are leap months handled?

A lunar year with thirteen months repeats one of them; Lunarette follows the same rule as the published calendars. In the converter, a Leap month box appears when the year you choose has one.

My reminder is on the 30th, but the month has 29 days

Then it arrives on the 29th, as families usually keep it. A yearly reminder is kept in the regular month, not the leap one.

Reminders do not arrive

Allow notifications for Lunarette: on a Mac in System Settings ▸ Notifications, on iPhone and iPad in the Settings app under Notifications, and on Android in the system settings for the app. Check also that a Focus or Do Not Disturb is not holding them back. Lunarette tells you when its notifications are turned off: on a Mac in Settings ▸ Reminders, on iPhone, iPad and Android in the Reminders tab.

I would rather see the lunar dates in characters

Lunarette writes lunar dates in your language. To see them the way your tradition writes them (丙午年八月十五), turn on Show lunar dates in Chinese characters in Lunarette's Settings (on a Mac, Settings ▸ Calendar). It is on from the start in Chinese, Japanese and Korean.
