Common questions

How far do I drag?

The first few centimetres below the menu bar go a minute at a time up to ten minutes, then five minutes at a time up to an hour, then a quarter of an hour at a time up to four hours. The bubble beside the pointer always shows what you would get. Let go to start it; move back up to the menu bar and let go to cancel.

What can I type?

A length and, if you like, a name, in either order: 25 (minutes), 25 tea, tea 4m, 1h30 call, 2m30, 90s. A time with a colon or am/pm sets an alarm for the next time the clock shows it: 5pm, 17:30 standup.

I did not get a notification

The card and the chime come whatever the notification setting. For the notification as well, allow Tockette in System Settings ▸ Notifications, and check that a Focus is not holding it back. Settings ▸ Timers says when notifications are turned off.

Do timers keep going if I quit?

Yes. They are saved as they change, and one that ran out while Tockette was closed rings as soon as it opens. The notification comes on time either way.

The drag gets in my way

Switch off Drag down from the icon to set a timer in Settings ▸ Menu Bar, and the icon only opens the panel.
