A break came later than I expected

Only time you actually spend at the Mac counts. Reading without touching anything for up to half a minute still counts; longer than that, the clock waits. And if you were away for as long as a break lasts, Pausette counts that as the break and starts again.

A break did not come during my call or presentation

That is deliberate: while any app has a microphone open, a due break waits until the call ends, then offers itself. The same goes for full-screen video and presentations: while the front app fills the screen, the break waits until you leave full screen. You can turn either off in Settings ▸ Behaviour.

How do I get out of a break?

Press Esc, or click Skip this break or Done. One more minute makes it longer. Nothing ever locks the screen.

Can the break stay small?

Yes. Switch off Dim the screen for the break in Settings ▸ Behaviour and the break stays a small card under the menu bar.

Is this medical advice?

No. Pausette is a reminder. If your eyes, back or wrists trouble you, talk to a doctor or an optician.
