Pausette

Privacy policy

Last updated 1 October 2026.

The short version

Pausette collects nothing, sends nothing and has no network access.

What Pausette notices

Whether you are using your Mac: the number of seconds since the last key press, click or trackpad movement, the same figure macOS uses for the screen saver. Pausette does not see which keys or where you click.

Whether a microphone is in use by any app, so a break can wait for your call. It reads a single on or off flag from macOS. It never opens the microphone and never hears anything, and it does not need microphone permission.

Whether the front app is full screen, so a break can wait for your video or presentation. Only while a break is near, it reads from macOS the size and position of the windows on screen and which app owns them, never their titles or what they show, and it does not need screen recording permission.

It does not use the camera, your location, your contacts, your calendar or your files.

What is stored, and where

Inside the app's own sandbox container on your Mac: your break settings and, for each of the last 30 days, how many breaks you took, skipped or had while away, and your time at the Mac. Deleting the app removes them.

Where it goes

Nowhere. Pausette has no network entitlement, which means macOS itself will not let it open a network connection. There is no server, no analytics and no account.
